Readout is approximately 4.5x faster than the α7 IV, providing a maximum shutter speed of 1/16000 sec., blackout-free bursts at up to 30 fps with full AF/AE tracking,28 and video recording at 4K 120p. The advanced sensor technology delivers up to an unprecedented 16 stops of dynamic range with smooth gradations.

BIONZ XR2™ with integrated AI processing unit
The BIONZ XR2 processing engine which integrates the AI processing unit of the latest α™ series delivers vast improvements in image and sound quality, and overall operation. It incorporates AI-based Real-time Recognition AF31 and Real-time Tracking, plus accurate, stable colour reproduction. In an upgrade from its predecessor, the α7 V includes a lightweight RAW format, while user interface, networking, and file management functions have all been refined.

Excellent image quality
The new 33.0 effective megapixels sensor and BIONZ XR2 processing engine deliver up to 16 stops of dynamic range. Smooth gradations from shadows to highlights enable highly effective HDR processing when needed, and effective noise reduction applied at all sensitivities achieves high resolution throughout the ISO 100-51200 still and movie range.

Composite RAW support
Composite RAW shooting automatically captures multiple RAW images that can then be transferred to a computer and composited. The enhanced [NR Shooting] setting produces low-noise images while maintaining high resolution even at mid to high sensitivities. Deep learning-based light source estimation for accurate white balance

Creative Look creates visual moods in-camera
The Creative Look function makes it easy to create visual moods in-camera. 12 presets are provided, including [FL2] and [FL3] selections. The presets can be used as they are or edited to create custom looks. Use seven parameters to adjust contrast, saturation, highlights, shadows and more while viewing the results on the monitor display. Custom Looks can be saved for later use.
